Event Fundraising Tips

A colorful display of merchandise will attract people to your table in a way that a table full of literature or an out spoken salesperson cannot replicate.

Determine how much merchandise you need:
How much space do you have?
How long will the event be?
How many people will be attending?
Is there space for overstock?
If I run out of an item how easy will it be to get more?

Common table for events is 6' x 2 1/2' or 8' x 2 1/2'.

Don't forget to bring starter money to make change.
Ideally you want $50 to $100 mostly in one's and five's with a few tens and twenties just in case you need to break a larger bill, the ones and fives are still the most important part of this tip.

Have a clip-board sign-up sheet to keep tract of either future clients or motivated volunteers.
This will allow you keep everyone organized at the end of a hectic day, providing you a way to re-connect with your people or establishing a mailing list for a later time.

Is it okay to stand in front of the table and greet people to attract customers?
Yes. However, don't plan on this being a sure fire method. Having an attractive and organized display will do far more you. It's good to greet people but being approachable is far more important.

Important to remember is that a show can be slow and it can have absolutly nothing to do with you. Maintain a positive attitude because we're also in this to support good causes and at the end of the day that is what this is all about!

Have Fun!
