Rewards for Your Ideas

Northern Sun wants to give you money! Do you have a message that needs to be spoken or a picture that says it all? Submit it to us and you could be rich. Okay, not rich, but we do pay you for your ideas that you agree to let us use in our catalog. We're looking for fresh ideas and compelling images for new products.

If your idea is used on a button, we will pay you $25. We pay $50 if your idea is used on a bumper sticker. T-shirt designs get you cash or a royalty for each shirt we sell. It's all negotiable and we will work with you.

You don't have to be a professional artist or writer to be a contributor - we're happy to add graphics to your text or wordsmith your phrases so they work with our format. We'd also love to see samples of existing products that our customers might like.

If you submit a graphic or idea electronically, which we prefer, here's what to do. If it's an idea without graphics, include your idea in the email message. If there's a graphic, send it in a .jpeg or .gif format. Send all ideas and graphics to submitideas@northernsun.com. We will contact you and let you know if your idea/graphic is accepted. If your graphic is accepted, we'll work with you to get the art into a format we use to produce the final product. Please note: we do not accept electronic submissions in any other format.

If you submit your ideas by mail, make sure your contact information is on the submission (in case it gets separated from its envelope). If you want your submission returned, include a SASE. Send your mail submissions to:
Northern Sun Catalog Committee
2916 East Lake Street
Minneapolis, MN 55406-2050

Occasionally, we get the same idea from more than one person. If your idea is accompanied by good artwork, you'll have an advantage over someone who sends in a rough sketch. If you're submitting a phrase, we pay the person who submits the idea first.

We regret that we're unable to confirm receipt of submissions over the phone. Electronic submission response time is quicker. The sooner you submit an idea, the better chance it has of appearing in an upcoming edition of the Northern Sun catalog.
